More Masters tickets wii give chance to public next season

The good news? Beginning next season, a limited supply of daily tournament round tickets will be made available to the general public. The bad news? It’s still going to be a real long shot to get them.“We already get hundreds of thousands of requests, the old, simple mail-it-in way,” Payne said. “It’s not a real good chance, but it’s a chance.”Payne said the extra tickets for daily rounds were not added to the current allotment of badges that are available. Rather, they were badges that will be re-distributed from patrons who have died or decided Winning Is More Important Than Swing they will no longer use them.“It’s just a supply of tickets that replenishes itself annually and predictably,” Payne said. “And what you’re not going to get is the exact number, but it’s fair to define it as a significant number. We all talked about it and we decided that’s the word we wanted to use — significant.”The tickets will be made available for the first time on the Masters website.
Payne also said regular attendees of the tournament will receive word later in the year that the renewal process for daily Masters badges will be done online as well.During Monday night’s severe storms that blew through the Augusta area, several trees were brought down around the course. While the course itself suffered virtually no damage, one of the club’s 150-year-old magnolia trees was uprooted.Payne said he was unsure of whether or not the tree — located along Augusta National’s famous Magnolia Lane entrance — would be replaced.“We don’t know yet,” Payne said, noting that “150-year-old magnolias are in short supply for transplanting. We were all very much saddened by that and we will make the best out of a difficult situation. We will deal with it somehow, but we just haven’t decided how to do it yet.”
