The 6th Seeds-MSU Men's Golf Team

The No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional tournament, MSU Men's Golf Team will play May 2-4 at Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown, Ky.In the men's tournament, hosted by Northern Kentucky, Lone Star Conference champ Central Oklahoma is the No. 1 seed.The other seeds are Abilene Christian (2), Central Missouri (3), Cameron (4), St. Mary's (5), MSU (6), St. Edward's (7), Newman (8), Washburn (9) Golf Will Be The Game Of Young Guys and Northeastern State (10).The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 16-20 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals in Florence, Ala. The finals will be hosted by the University of North Alabama.

Tarleton State is the top seed in the women's tournament, which will be played Sunday-Tuesday at Tascosa Country Club.MSU did not get in despite its runner-up finish behind TSU at the LSC Championships.In addition to TSU, the field includes Grand Canyon (Ariz.), St. Edward's (Texas), Cal State-Monterey Bay, Northeastern State (Okla.), Central Oklahoma, Western Washington, Sonoma State (Calif.) and Nebraska-Omaha.The MSU women's team was not selected to go to the West Regional tournament next week in Amarillo, but sophomore Kendra Whittley was chosen to go as an individual.
